SUMMARY:Moving Within the Stillness ~ Breathwork & Movement Journey
DESCRIPTION:As the days are growing shorter\, and the nights longer\, we will come together to move and breathe within the stillness of the winter season… and take time to truly restore. It is a time to nourish our roots\, connect to our families\, ancestors and the ancient ones. It is within the stillness\, the fertile darkness\, that we plant seeds and make intentions about how we will support them so they can blossom… so we can ultimately reap their harvest in seasons later to come.\n\nWe’ll begin our journey with embodied movement with time for sharing and connecting\, and then settle into the powerful practice of Clarity Breathwork.  This practice is done lying on your back breathing deep\, connected breaths in and out of the mouth for about one hour\, with gentle coaching.\n\nEvery breath we take is sacred\, an opportunity to connect to our deepest essence.  When we breathe fully and consciously\, we can heal our hearts\, minds and bodies.\n\nThe Movement Journey preceding the breathwork will be heavily influenced this time by the amazing 4-day Body Tales teacher training I recently attended. Body Tales is a profound\, expressive somatic movement practice\, created by Olivia Corson. DESCRIPTION:I’m very excited to announce that I will be joining “the SoulPlay Festivals team for a soulful evening of deep connection\, conscious touch\, and ecstatic dancing on Friday March 9th! \nThe night will start by tapping into our primal selves with Devi Peri leading us in Creature Contact. We will then flow into the rich tones and soundscapes that the magical Alia creates in her Ecstatic Dance set. After we are filly in our bodies and connected to ourselves\, we will connect Soul to Soul\, in Tantric Ritual led by Kailani Shakti. Finally\, we will come back to ourselves with all that we’ve cultivated over the course of the evening and ground with a sound bath.” \nI will be facilitating Creature Contact from 7:45 – 8:45 pm. \nCreature Contact is a sensual form of moving meditation that is focused on finding pleasure through our sensational bodies.  The intention is to drop out of our think-thinky human minds\, and down into our animal bodies (our “creature selves”). With our focused attention on sensations in the body\, we move in contact with the ground\, the wall or other possible objects in the room… Like other creatures\, we find ways to massage ourselves (think of a kitty rubbing on the furniture\, or your leg).  And we move in contact with another human creature\, creating a mutual massage. \nIt’s a wonderful practice for learning to be more embodied and connected with Self\, as well as an opportunity to be more sensual and playful. And it’s a great warm-up before dance. DESCRIPTION: Creature Contact is featured as the Pre-Soulscape Experience! \n“Soulscape  is a place to express our lives through movement in a non-verbal\, drug free container. Facilitation is offered each week\, as ways to connect with yourself and purpose\, and others. This space is intended and offered as an ecstatic dance space.”  Each week Soulscape offers a pre-dance experience from 7:30-8:00.  On October 29th I will be offering Creature Contact during this time. \nDrop out of your thinky head and into your sensational creature self! Creature Contact is sensory exploration while moving alone and with partners\, giving ourselves and each other wonderful stretches and massages…all the while exploring some basic contact improv concepts.  No experience necessary. \nSoulscape has a suggested donation of $12 – $15 which includes the Pre-Soulscape Experience and the dance.
